Subliminal message is a signal or message designed to be sent in the normal limits of perception.
Awareness of the subliminal
With 1,5 seconds before the conscious make decisions, like to move or to speak, electrical signals in the brain have begun to form⌠How is it possible that consciousness, which is responsible for testing and observation of reality, to be replaced with subconscious, subconscious that becomes the creator of reality? It can only be one answer: subliminal messages.
A subliminal message is a signal or a message designed to be sent in the normal limits of perception. It is below the conscious and its meant to be implanted into the subconscious. Once implanted into subconscious, subliminal message influences the conscious in such way we do things that seem right to do, we start to believe we actually own these thoughts, the reality is that we have preconceptions coming from others.
Today subliminal is used various areas, like commercial advertising, business, art of any kind, political propaganda, and others.
The secrets of advertising
Many psychologists points out that advertising is addressed mainly to children under 3 years old. We ask nowâŚhow it is possible?..
The ads were born from the need to make more popular the products meant to be sold. At first, ads highlight the qualities of products, hiding defects, and the selling manner was in such way so the potential client was not looking for product defects. It was the beginning of ads, and whether they were just some posters or audio-video, ads were a combination of propaganda and intoxication.
Later, when the ads began to be used on an increasingly large scale, have started to use two new methods:
1.Using people of opposite sex to main groups of potential clients (first, used with great results for advertising airlines). Of course, the potential clients were mostly men, so young girls were used to dress behind a âcurtainâ (miniskirt over tights, a cleavage, a hairstyle hiding a part of the face, a hat to hide a part of hair and face, but also other methods that makes men to be interested to know what the rest looks like). This âcurtainâ effect seduced them, makes them to leave guard down and brand names from ads were implanted into the mind as subliminal messages.
2.Use of people with dilated pupils. Dilated pupils characters in ads it is almost impossible to grasp and aims to dilate pupilâs viewer who will experience a feeling of some happiness and contentment in that moment. Thus, in this case the viewer is seduced and the name of the brand that is advertised is implanted as subliminal message.
What is the effect of the two points above? Simple: in the very first moment of being able to chose at least two items, the person seduced by ad will chose the product or brand from the ads.
Lately, the ads were created to make people buy according to the satisfaction of senses. Todayâs ads will never show any objective reason to buy a product. Advertises today, using stimulus that excite, will seduce your senses over and over again.
As all social psychologists know, each individual emphasize on one of the senses. Therefore there are pictures -image used in order to make us believe that we see, hear, smell, feel something pleasant.
For example:We buy chewing gum, not to have clean teeth but to have teeth âbright whiteâ;
We buy a certain brand of cleaning solution, not because it cleans well, but for the âwash cleanâ, or because it brings in the house âflavor of springâ;
We do not buy natural juice, but we buy drinks that invite us with âthe true taste of fruitsâ;
We do not buy fruits grown naturally which have important nutrients and vitamins, but we buy imported fruits treated and irradiated, the latter bringing a lower intake of nutrients and vitamins, a source of radiation to the body, but making us to believe that we have in hand a fresh fruit just picked from the tree;
We buy clothes, not according to our needs but according to fashion;
We buy more expensive electronics, not to have an easier life, but to impress our acquaintances;
We buy cell phones with features we donât need, not to communicate better, but to impress our acquaintances;
We buy a new car not to be safe or to spend less on gasoline, but to feel the adrenaline;
If we give to a woman a new fur coat, she will not be that interested in how it fits her, but to how it feels to touch the fur.
And still are an infinite similar casesâŚ
Influence of the children
The children learn through the senses. When the children are attracted to know one thing, first they look at that thing then they put the hand on it, to check its texture, to observe its shape closer, lift it (if possible), move it, they check if the object make noises, listen to familiarize themselves with the sound of it, smell it and eventually taste it (he puts it in his mouth and tries to bite it).
Only later children begin to form their own mode of thinking , planning to think logically, pragmatically and realistically. Â
A man who knows how to think logically can guard himself by the words-image ads that try to seduce. A man who has contact with the ad before forming a logical, pragmatic and realistic way of thinking, would have serious deficiencies of thinking, will make choices at all levels based on the feelings will eventually experience.
Consumer perceptionâŚ
Subliminal messages in advertising are those that attract the most the buyers and this is why the companies use such âtriflesâ.
It is impressive what they can do to our mindsâŚ
